Chrysalis: Spiritual Storytelling

Inspired by podcasts and events such as The Moth, Chrysalis will be an evening of autobiographical spoken word about life on the path of conscious evolution.

We've recruited yogis and healers and leaders within our broader spiritual communities to present stories ranging from profound to absurd, from transcendent to utterly human.

Expect a fun night of no-holds-barred sharing and discovering the ways we are just so similar in all of our uniqueness.

Featuring Michael Hewett (Sarva Yoga Acaedmy), Adreanna Limbach (Delicious Intent), Rebecca Conran (It's Not You, It's Me Wellness Coaching), Hanah Fazio  (performance artist and healer), Alice Schavoir (artist, healer), Ralph De La Rosa (The Mindfulness Sessions), Luke Simon (Maha Rose), and more.

Building a Mindful New Year

It’s that time of year. Self-reflection is at an all time high and our minds are naturally drawn to what we want to keep, discard, or create as a new year dawns.

Writers and Buddhist teachers Susan Piver and Lodro Rinzler have invited a collection of accomplished dharma teachers to guide you through the end of one year and into another with mindfulness and awareness, focused on the six priorities that will benefit you most as you lay the ground for what is to come.

Susan Piver and Lodro Rinzler Present:

BUILDING A MINDFUL NEW YEAR

6 Days / 6 Transcendent Themes / 3 Meditation Classes Per Day

(drop into as many as you like)

Dec 26 – Dec 31

With Sokuzan Bob Brown, Acharya Fleet Maull, Diane Musho Hamilton, Shozan Jack Hauber, Kate Johnson, Roshi Enkyo O’Hara, Rev angel Kyodo Williams, Hokai Sobol and many others

FREE

In Buddhist thought, the path to a life of joy is built on taking six actions consistently: Generosity; Discipline; Patience, Exertion; Meditation; and Wisdom. Each day of this program will focus on one of those themes.

Three different dharma teachers each day will guide three different meditations on that theme, beginning at 8:00 AM EST on December 26 and ending at 7:00 PM EST on December 31. All sessions will be streaming online and easy to access.

You are invited to drop into one or all sessions. Since they won’t be recorded, we’ve chose times we hope will make it possible for anyone, anywhere to access these valuable practices. From Zen to Vipassana to Tibetan practices, a variety of lineages are represented.

Cultivating Courage: Supporting Yourself and the World

August 13th: 7-9pm

Co-Teaching with Lani Rowe
Zen teachings emphasize great doubt, great faith, and great courage; the foundational Buddhist texts indicate that the Buddha’s enlightenment was the result of great renunication, great realization, and great brave mind. But how can we be courageous and brave in the face of our personal suffering, the suffering of those close to us, and the unrelenting suffering throughout the planet? What does courage even mean in a tradition based on mindfulness and compassion?
Join us for this new series, in support of Metta Meditation Month, where we will examine practices and teachings designed to develop our inherent qualities of awareness, clarity, and kindness. We’ll learn how to make an authentic connection to our anxieties and worries, and transform them to engage in the world with integrity and discernment.
