Looking to deepen your meditation practice or simply locate some space and clarity in the center of a hectic existence? Join meditation teachers and Buddhist authors Adreanna Limbach + Lodro Rinzler for an immersive week of mindfulness and loving-kindness meditation to deeply center ourselves, open our hearts and shed layers of hibernation just in time for Spring. Overlooking expansive views of Claverack, New York, we will spend the week practicing a blend of walking meditation, sitting meditation, loving-kindness exercises, journaling and talks on :
• How to keep an open heart in troubling times so that we can love ourselves and others more deeply
• Staying grounded and learning from strong emotions — while being more kind to ourselves in the process
• How to cut through the clutter of daily frustrations by cultivating presence and simplicity
• Bringing the practices of mindfulness and compassion into our daily life through the Buddha’s teachings on the Four Noble Truths and Eightfold Path

WON DHARMA CENTER is located 130 miles north of NYC in the township of Claverack near Hudson, New York.
WDC boasts an architecturally stunning campus with modern accommodations built with minimalism in mind. The community calls themselves “an Open Circle of teachers and students, neighbors and visitors, young and old, from any faith to no faith. We gather to make our commitment to reduce and eliminate suffering in the world and to provide a safe and eco-friendly space for nurturing holistic well-being and spiritual growth.” WDC offers beautiful walking trails that wind through 426 rural acres of unsurpassed serenity and peacefulness. These trails are open to the public from dawn to dusk every day.
🔺 GETTING THERE FROM NYC :: You can take the Hudson bound train from MetroNorth at Penn Station — a 2 hour scenic train ride along the Hudson River — and then a 15 minute cab ride from Hudson, NY to WDC. We will be organizing cab-shares for participants arriving Friday morning as the date draws near. Alternatively, Won Dharma Center is a straight shot from NYC along the Taconic State Parkway North and takes roughly 2.5 to 3 hours by car.

🔺 LODRO RINZLER is the cofounder of MNDFL Meditation and is the award-winning author of six books: The Buddha Walks into a Bar; Walk Like a Buddha; The Buddha Walks into the Office; Sit Like a Buddha; How to Love Yourself (And Sometimes Other People); and Love Hurts. He has taught meditation for eighteen years in the Buddhist tradition and travels frequently for his books, having spoken across the world at conferences, universities, and businesses as diverse as Google, Harvard University and the White House. Dubbed “the cool kid’s Buddhist” by The Boston Phoenix, Rinzler’s work has been featured in The New York Times,The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, FOX, CBS, and NBC. He lives in New York City with his wife Adreanna and a menagerie of small animals.

Adreanna Limbach is the Head Teacher at MNDFL meditation studios, and a personal development coach that helps women access their inherent clarity and confidence so that they can expand their freedom in business and life. Having practiced meditation for the last twenty years she has taught Buddhist studies, meditation, and how to cultivate self-worth since 2012 at locations across the globe. As a coach she has spent a decade mentoring do-gooders at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and catalyzed cohorts of tomorrow’s leaders in social change as an Executive Coach and faculty at The Institute for Compassion Leadership. Her work has been featured by The New York Times, Refinery29, Women's Health and xoJane.

Q: WHAT TIME EXACTLY SHOULD I PLAN ON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE?
A: We ask that you arrive the morning of Friday 3/29 between 7am - 2pm so that you can get settled in and acquainted with the grounds before our afternoon practice session begins at 2:30pm. If you are coming from NYC there are 4 morning trains departing Penn Station ——> Hudson bound that will get you to WON Dharma center before 2pm. We will be officially closing our retreat together the evening of Thursday, 3/4 and departing WON Dharma Center before 3pm on Friday, 3/5. There will be an optional open meditation the morning of Friday 3/5 for those of us who are departing later in the day.
Q: WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
A: Your body. Your mind. And your breath. Also: Please pack your own toiletries, a bath towel and a washcloth/hand towel. If you are traveling from a distance and cannot pack a towel, please let us know and we will bring (a newly purchased) towel for you. On the issue of packing space: please note that WON does have a coin operated washer and dryer should you choose to pack light and wash your clothing throughout the week. If you choose to do so, please also bring quarters.
Dorm Space: Guests staying in the dorm should be aware that they will be given a “camp-style” mattress (which lies directly on the floor), and a coverlet or blanket. A pillow and sleeping bag are suggested. It is highly recommended that dorm guests bring a reading light, ear plugs and a sleeping mask. The dorm space is not suggested for light sleepers or loud snorers.
Q : I LOVE FOOD AND / OR HAVE SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH MEALS?
A: I also love food like a hungry bear and have special dietary limitations. All meals will be vegetarian with vegan and gluten free options available. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be served daily at 7:30am, 12pm, and 5:30pm respectively. WON asks that participants do not bring outside food / keep snacks in their rooms. Food in the lodging spaces is an invitation for creepy crawly houseguests.
