REMEMBER HOW GOOD IT FEELS TO MEDITATE IN PERSON TOGETHER?

Meditation apps. Online classes. Zoom retreats. Thank goodness for technology — it’s carried us through the Covid years. However if you’ve ever meditated in a space with other real live, three dimensional humans, then you likely know just HOW GOOD it feels to have your practice supported by community — like singing with the choir.

It’s time to congregate again, and we would love to have you join us for a weekend of community + practice on a few acres of heaven in the Hudson Valley, NY.

This intimate weekend meditation retreat is limited to 18 participants and will include sitting meditation, dharma talks, community discussion, walking meditation, plant-based meals (lunch and dinner) and leisure time to read, walk, and explore.

Think of this as a great opportunity to hit the refresh button as we move into whatever comes next — in nature, and TOGETHER.

— RETREAT OVERVIEW —

  • FRIDAY EVENING — Opening Talk, Practice, and Community Dinner : 6pm to 8:30pm

  • SATURDAY DAYLONG RETREAT — 9am to 8pm

  • SUNDAY AFTERNOON — 9am to 2pm

🔹

We’ll be gathering for practice periods outdoors and under a large, open tent — with our own, individual meditation platforms, so that we’re able to maintain our personal space in an airy setting. Meals will be served outdoors on the deck with shared table seating, weather permitting. Meditation sessions will be a blend of sitting and walking meditation, with dharma talks and group discussion sprinkled in. This retreat was designed for those who already have some meditation experience who are looking to deepen their practice and study in community. New to meditation practice? Amazing! We would love to see you at a future retreat.

“I feel like the retreat with Adreanna and Lodro turbocharged my meditation practice. Today, a few days post retreat, I just came back from walking my dog, where I actually noticed and enjoyed the smell of the damp morning earth and the feeling of the breeze on my arm - rather than looking down at my phone and trying to "get stuff done." I actually enjoyed those moments of my life. What a gift! Lodro and Adreanna gave talks that made the teachings both memorable and relatable. They also created a peaceful, welcoming environment. I'm so happy I was able to participate.”

— HOW TO GET HERE —

📍KINDERHOOK, NY is a small, historic Dutch Colonial village on Mohican land, located in the Northern Hudson Valley region — about 2.5 hours North of New York City. It is home to the Jack Shainman Gallery (aka: The School) The Albany-Hudson Electric Trail, a train line turned 36 mile hiking and biking trail, and is around the corner from Art Omi sculpture fields.

IF YOU ARE FLYING — the closest airport is Albany International Airport, which is 30 minutes North of Kinderhook. The second best option would likely be flying into either JFK or LAX in NYC and then either taking the Amtrak from Penn Station to Hudson, NY.

IF YOU ARE TAKING THE TRAIN FROM NYC — There are trains running through the day from NYC Penn Station to Hudson, which is the nearest train station. Just visit the Amtrak website and search trains from NYP to HUD. (New York Penn Station to Hudson). We will be arranging pick-ups and drop-offs at the train station. Coach ticket prices begin at $31 each way.

*NOTE — If possible, please arrange to arrive by 5pm on the evening of Friday, June 17th. Similarly, please arrange to depart Kinderhook after 2pm on Sunday, June 19th.

IF YOU ARE DRIVING — Congratulations! The drive to Kinderhook is scenic and gorgeous. It may even be worth allowing yourself extra time to stop at one of the many local roadside farm stands on the way here.

Want to carpool with fellow retreatants? REACH OUT TO ME HERE and I will be sure to keep a tally and put you all in touch.

“This was my first ever retreat and I was a little daunted by it going into the weekend. That quickly dissolved as Adreanna and Lodro created a warm, friendly space where all of us quickly felt safe and taken care of. I walked away from this weekend with an incredible sense of peace and a new community of meditators.”

— LODGING —

While we would love to host everyone on the land, that’s not (yet?) a possibility. In the meantime, we’ll need to spread out a bit between Kinderhook and nearby towns. We have one on-site lodging option available (The Guesthouse) as well as three 3-bedroom “retreat houses” in the area rented as potential lodging options. (12 bedrooms in total).

Transportation will be supplied to and from the three “retreat houses” listed below, so if you’re not traveling by car, we strongly recommend securing one of these rented rooms, or staying on-site at The Guest House which is the shortest commute of all. The Guest House is large enough for 2 people and includes one bedroom and a sofa bed if you’re interested in sharing lodging with another. All bookings are on a first-come basis. If you are looking to book your own lodging, we recommend staying in the towns of Kinderhook, Hudson, Chatham or Ghent - which are all within a 20 minute driving radius and have plenty of great AirBnB and hotel options available.

🔹 To secure your retreat lodging, please choose an option below to complete your registration. Click through the options below to see photos, details, and secure your spot.

NOTE We do ask that all participants are fully vaccinated before attending. It’s a peace of mind thing.
