Practice Notes : Basic can be Beautiful

Ordinary gets a bad rap. Basic can be a beautiful thing.

We do ourselves and others a real disservice when we cloak meditation practice in wah-wah-doo airs of mystique - which easily reduces it either to ‘spiritual entertainment’ or something inaccessible that only folks with crystals and wide brimmed hats do. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Meditation practice is the very ordinary practice of developing a friendly, working relationship with our minds. Basic mental hygiene.

Which is no less transformative or profound.

As English writer Douglas Adams once wrote:

“Isn’t it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”
