PRACTICE #9

This meditation originally aired June 19, 2020

• ACCEPTANCE •

It’s great to be back here with you for another practice as we steadily cruise along in our theme of Acceptance.

Now, if you've been practicing with me for any length of time, you likely already know how much I love structure.

The Container Store gives me great joy.
An outline lets me improvise.
A bullet-pointed list sets my whole mind at ease.
This may also be one of the appeals of Buddhist studies -- as anyone who has ever dipped their toes into the philosophy knows, there are 4 of these, 6 of those, 12 of another thing.
*Noble truths, Paramitas, Nidanas.
I see you out there my fellow Buddhist geeks.

In today's practice, I'm not going to get too Buddhist-y on you, but I do offer a 4-part framework that one of my teachers gave me for accepting our mistakes and forgiving ourselves.
It's clear, practical, and has been exceeding useful in my own life.
May it be of benefit.
Practice begins at the 5 minute, 5-second mark. Just find a comfortable seat, and perhaps a pen + paper to capture your own insights after meditation, and then click the video above.
