Hello you,
I have a HUGE announcement to make. Which might only translate as a medium announcement, because I've been "spilling the tea" as the kids say - since February.
I'm not great at keeping my own secrets. Because, excitement.
So here goes -- I'm writing a book. *cue the dance music*
This past winter I signed a deal with Sounds True Publishing, and have been busily scratching and organizing, weeping and writing this manuscript into fruition.
It's often said that with any undertaking, one should be careful to inspect the lineage that you're learning from. Whether we plan to or not, we tend to inherit the qualities of our teachers and adopt the tendencies of our lineage. Which is only partially what makes me so tickled to be invited into the Sounds True lineage -- with authors like Pema Chodron, Danielle LaPorte, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Alan Watts and Jack Kornfield to their credit, I feel like a toddler walking in the footsteps of giants.
Humbling. Terrifying. Exhilarating.
We've just finalized the title, which is why right now feels like a really good time to introduce you.
It's called Tea and Cake with Demons: A Buddhist Guide to Feeling Worthy and as the name suggests, it's a book about befriending our shadowy bits and reclaiming our inherent worth, all through the lens of The Four Noble Truths of Buddhism.
It's an idea that's been percolating in my psyche for some years now. In fact, just days after signing with Sounds True, this popped up on my Facebook "Timeline" to serve as a reminder:
Which, incidentally, is the question I'm still asking.
And the one that lives at the heart of this book.
Here's the kicker though: writing is a solitary process and can get mighty lonely. There have been moments when I'm just hearing my own thoughts and my own stories rattling around on the page without a lot of fresh input or reciprocity.
Which is why I would love your help.
Would you be open to sharing the stories and experiences that have shaped your relationship to self-worth?
I've set aside a few time blocks for 30-minute conversations and I would love to hear from you. We can talk about whatever feels honest, tender, or valuable to you in relation to self-worth, and there is really only one question: Do you feel like you are intrinsically enough?
I would be forever grateful for your contribution to this book -- and of course, will give you a shout-out along with your story, unless you prefer to remain anonymous.
In which case I will give you quiet love and epic thanks for your offering, without ever naming names.
All you have to do is click this LINK , choose the Tea and Cake Interview option, and then select a time and day that works well for you.
I can't wait to hear your stories!
----> Edit: all interview slots have been filled. Along with my heart. Thank you.
